About Us

Who are we?

Boston University Moot Court (BUMCO) seeks to educate undergraduate students about the American legal system, American jurisprudence, and the work of American attorneys. Our members come from all levels of experience/majors, and strive to compete at the highest level attainable.

What do we do?

Moot Court, also known as "Mock Supreme Court", is a simulated legal argumentation before a hypothetical appellate court. Students work in pairs to create arguments based on a fictional case that changes every year. They will take on either the role of respondent or appellate, and compete against other universities.

How can you get involved?

As of January 2024, BUMCO is encouraging everyone interested in public speaking, argumentation, and/or law to join. Get involved by signing up for our mailing list, and coming to our new member practice on February 1st from 7-9pm. Information about the meeting location will be sent via the mailing list, so make sure to sign up! If you have any additional questions, reach out over email, social media, or come find us at Splash on January 27th from 12-2:30pm in the Metcalf Ballroom, GSU.
